This relaxing 4-day Yoga Retreat offers your nervous system a reset. Yoga styles include gentle flow, vinyasa, yin, restorative, meditation, breath work and the beautiful yoga nidra. And, you will come away with practices to bring more calm into your life: Anytime, anywhere.

Janie Walker will be co-leading this retreat with Abbe Holmes. The venue is Sudarshanaloka, a stunning down-to-earth retreat center in the Coromandel, surrounded by nature.

This yoga retreat is a gentle movement and calming retreat, open to all bodies, beliefs and experiences.

Four days, three nights, a lifetime of calm.

Early bird retreat fee - pay before 31 August: $525 for four-days (5pm Thursday until 11.30am Sunday). Includes all morning, afternoon and evening practices; accommodation and food. Optional return bus transport from Porirua, Wellington in our Yoga Bus - just $50. Bus is a little rustic, but legal and warranted and driven by a proper bus driver! Linen hire $15 or bring your own. Payment plan available. Deposit of $240 to secure your place. Full fee after 31 August $625.

Venue has limited power and is basic, set in a beautiful natural Coromandel setting.

What to expect on the retreat

Day One - Thursday: Travel. Arrival 5pm. Welcome. Dinner. Orientation. Introductions. A lovely Yoga Nidra guided meditation to feel relaxed.

Day Two - Friday: Yoga flow in the morning, breakfast, restorative yoga. Lunch. Free time for nature and river walks. Yin yoga. Chill time. Dinner. Yoga Nidra.

Day Three - Saturday: Similar to Friday with different themes and focus. Time to chill, unwind and connect.

Day Four - Sunday: Last session. Breakfast. Nature walk. Celebration. Leave late morning. Travel.

Other information

Venue: Venue has limited power and is basic, set in a beautiful natural Coromandel setting. The common rooms are cosy. The practice room is large.

Accommodation: Simple single beds in shared rooms (2 or 3 per room). Shared bathroom. Limited power.

Styles of yoga: This retreat is designed for beginners of yoga and those who regularly practice. You will be supported to take whatever shape feels good.

Prayer room: A prayer room is available for any other devotional practice.

Travel: Transport from Wellington provided via bus for $50. Retreat center is 10 minutes north of Thames, Coromandel.

Instructors: Janie Walker and Abbe Holmes are qualified, experienced and supportive yoga teachers.

Food: Vegetarian. Simple and delicious. We can cater for allergies or intolerances. Alcohol & smoke free.

Group size: 11 + instructors and organisers.

Health & Safety: The retreat center is hosted retreats for many years and takes health and safety seriously.

Vibe: Relaxed and fun. Participate as much or as little as you like. However, you will get the most out of the weekend by joining us for each session.

Cancellation Policy: Fees are non-refundable. If the retreat is cancelled, 100% refund given.
